What are Bulk Earthworks and When is it Needed?

Bulk earthworks is generally used to ensure a surface area is of a suitable height and level. Contractors will use heavy equipment like excavators and bobcats to remove, move and add large quantities of soil or rock from one location to another. Types of Excavation Methods for Bulk Earthworks

There are two main classifications of the excavation method used for bulk earthworks: the purpose of the excavation and the type of earth-based material being excavated. The purpose depends on the type of project it will be used in. When it comes to the material type, surveyors or engineers will have to measure the hardness of the earth to be dug. The categories are (1) easy, (2) medium, (3) medium to hard, and (4) hard.
