Robert and Jennifer Archer started the business in October 1997 and 20 years on Archers Underground Services Pty Ltd has grown to employ more than 25 staff and have a fleet of Hydro Vacuum Excavation trucks and Service Location vehicles.

Archers Underground Services Pty Ltd locators are DBYD Certified and NULCA trained in the use of state of the art location equipment to identify critical underground assets.

These assets typically include but are not limited to:

NDD (Non-Destructive Digging) is primarily used as a safe method to expose underground services and dig around critical infrastructure however it also has many other applications.

How Hydro Vacuum Excavations (NDD) Works

Hydro Vacuum Excavation (NDD) equipment combines high-pressure water and air vacuum. This system cuts through soils and debris breaking it up. The vacuum then lifts the slurry from the excavation area into a debris tank. This allows for a non-destructive and more accurate way to excavate soil and locate underground utilities.

The GPR comes in handy for those non-traceable assets that need to be found, such as PVC pipes, concrete pipes, tree roots and much more.

It works by looking for disturbances in the ground or anything that is buried that has a different density than the surrounding earth or concrete. These usually untraceable assets may be discoverable by a GPR without the need for digging.

On those big jobs it will provide information overlayed on google earth for ease of visualising orientation.

Past work covers a variety of applications including:
