Barges Australia has been involved in many marine construction and infrastructure projects with some of the most reputable construction companies and builders in Australia. 

Barges Australia was formed in 1968 and is Australia’s largest provider of road-transportable modular barges.

Our Modular Barges are designed to support cranes, excavators and other equipment for construction, drilling and maintenance works on in-land rivers, dams and other waterways. The current Barges Australia fleet size comprises of a considerable number of Modular 12M Barges, 21M Catamaran Barges and Workboats. All of the Barges Australia equipment is of modular design for flexible and efficient over water access solutions; the modular barges can be easily mobilised to anywhere in Australia, New Zealand or PNG.

Barges Australia hire out barges, pontoons, workboats and related marine equipment to provide floating work platforms, used extensively in water based construction projects. Our vessels have the distinctive features of being modular and road transportable:

Modular pontoons can be used individually, or can be joined together in various configurations to build up larger barges.

Being road transportable ensures that they can readily be mobilised from our base in Sydney to anywhere in Australia (including inland and remote locations) and overseas.
