Who we are
After fifteen years in corporate life occupying numerous executive positions within the newspaper and magazine industries, Graeme Dunk purchased Hardwick Carriers, a small regional transport business in October 1997. This business originally consisted of five vehicles and seven employees.
In December 1997 Graeme opened a facility in Proserpine and in December 1998 was approached by Hamilton Island with a view of providing a consolidated “Express Freight” service from the mainland. This service witnessed three employees and three vehicles permanently located on the Island maintaining responsibility for express freight, grocery and alcohol deliveries together with all airfreight movements on/off the Island.
In October 2000, the Mackay operations, which included Followmont Transport, moved to purpose built premises in the industrial heart of Paget. This relocation was timed to coincide with a change of name from Hardwick Carriers to Central Coast Transport. This became a name that could be identified and marketed far and wide and was easily recognisable by the logo as to its operational location.
In October 2008, Graeme sold the Followmont Transport agency in Mackay and moved to smaller premises in Ginger Street, Paget that allowed the business to totally focus on supporting local opportunities.
In January 2009, the Proserpine/Whitsunday business moved into purpose built facilities in Proserpine, located right on the highway.
It was the only B Double rated facility in the Whitsunday’s for general freight and consisted of some 1400 square metre concrete tilt up warehouse complete with modern external offices.
November 2011, saw Graeme sell the Proserpine and Hamilton Island business to Proserpine locals, Bryan and Sally Lucht, who continue on in the industry today.
Following the sale of Proserpine and Hamilton Island, the business changed names to Central Coast Logistics and over recent years the business has witnessed significant and sustained growth.
In February 2017, Central Coast Logistics moved into new premises at 104-108 Maggiolo Drive, Paget, expanded the fleet to encompass thirteen vehicles including tailgate loaders, crane truck, curtain siders, flat tops, vans and utilities. This fleet is complimented with three forklifts ranging from 2.5tonne to 5 tonne.
This modern and secure premises, protected by 24 hr CCTV combined with easy B Double access and a great location, makes it the perfect place to have your freight unloaded, stored and delivered from.
