Elena Hofmayer created Homestaycare in 2001 as an international homestay placement agency for students and family hosts.  

Elena obtained her Cleaning Operations Certificate III in 2013. During the height of Covid-19, she was working in the Pharmaceutical as a Supply Chain Officer. She has seen the struggles and depressed students during those times and instead utilized Homestaycare into cleaning which is now called Homestaycare Cleaning. 

While she was still working in the pharmaceutical industry she sourced End of lease cleaning and employed students. The income earned during COVID-19 was used to purchase groceries for international students for 1.5 years and supported 300 students on her list. 

Elena is passionate about helping international students, left pharmaceutical in 2021, and she continued cleaning. Her vision is to employ unemployed Australians and International students who would subsidize their general life while studying.

Elena is continuously training inexperienced individuals and employment is always open when needed. As the clientele has increased, and getting to know more of the students who are more qualified in other fields such as Nursing, Engineering, Welding, Teaching, or just name it. 

Elena has started to source other fields for qualified students and find employment. For goodwill, instead of a percentage fee, Elena requested an exchange for a cleaning contract as an incentive.
