Jim Vansleve has been building and designing in-ground concrete swimming pools in the Brisbane region since 1971, gaining vast experience in every aspect of the industry. In his early years as a hands-on builder, he gained experience in working with steel fixing, tiling, interiors, filtration and plumbing.

In 1974, Jim and Liz Vansleve established Norfolk Pools in Brisbane; with the concept of offering clients the opportunity to deal with one person who would be the sales consultant, designer and builder all in one. This enabled us to offer a very personalised service, a one-on-one with clients and therefore a complete understanding of their requirements and with better communication, avoiding the pitfalls of larger swimming pool companies.

Some 45 plus years after and several thousand Brisbane swimming pools later, we still offer the same personalised service and quality, preferring to build only what we can personally manage.

Daughter Danica has been part of Norfolk Pools since 2002, and alongside Jim, plays a part in every aspect of the business from administration through to construction. Since 2007, after completing a Bachelor of Business in Accounting, she has taken on most of the design work. Danica also holds her QBCC licence for Site Supervision for swimming pool construction and landscaping, and has in-depth knowledge of site conditions, engineering, and access issues.
