Mine Infrastructure

Catenary Crossing

PCE has provided detailed structural design and certification for a recently constructed catenary crossing for a mine in the Bowen Basin. The crossing spans the nearby Isaac River for a total of approximately 190m. The catenary crossing allows monitoring systems and infrastructure to be flood immune, as it no longer traverses the riverbed.

Annual Structural Integrity Audits

Over the past ten years, PCE has undertaken various audits (surface structures, underground structures, seam gas, asbestos and more) at numerous coal mines in the Bowen Basin. PCE works with the client to prepare a custom-tailored report to suit their risk rating procedures and standards. 

MNCM Seam Gas Walkway

In 2020 PCE prepared the design a documentation of a small pedestrian walkway at Moranbah North Coal Mine. This project is a great example of PCE’s innovative skillset as a previously redundant elevated platform was used and modified to suit the project.

New Conveyor Leading into Box-cut

Location: Carborough Downs Mine The new conveyor was installed to transport coal out of the underground mine at Carborough Downs Coal Mine.

New Mining Infrastructure Area

Location: Moranbah North Coal Mine PCE designed, documented and supervised the new mine infrastructure area at Moranbah North Coal Mine.

Stock Pile Transfer Slab

Location: Carborough Downs Mine 

PCE undertook structural design and documentation and was extensively involved in constructing a major stock pile transfer slab at Carbourough Downs Mine.

Construction of Transfer Tower Footing

Location: Carborough Downs Mine Extensive footings were constructed as part of the conveyor infrastructure, which transports coal from the underground mine to the coal handling preparation plant four kilometres away.
