Established in 1991 the business, founded by Stuart Scott & formerly known as Stuart Scott Plumbing has built up a solid reputation as drain care specialists providing quality plumbing solutions throughout the region.

Owner of SS Plumbing & Draincare, Stuart Scott, undertook his plumbing apprenticeship in 1985 with a local plumber in Melbourne’s northern suburbs. Stuart has consequently been servicing the northern suburbs since 1991 – and knows the area like the back of his hand. 

Stuart Scott comes from a line of tradesman and as a youth, had no inclination to end up in an office. While working a part-time job, he asked a visiting plumber if he could carry out work experience with him. After a week of work experience, Stuart was offered a job as the man’s apprentice. Once he completed his apprenticeship, Stuart soon decided to go out on his own. At 22, he officially started Stuart Scott Plumbing.

During the early days of the business, it was just Stuart and his van. He established a positive reputation in the local area, and five years in, took on his first apprentice who ended up staying with the company for ten years – and still does sub-contracting to this day. Stuart has since trained a number of apprentices who have gone on to be successful in the field. Now, Stuart Scott Plumbing employs 3 full-time plumbers, with a school-based apprentice, and has 3 vehicles on the road, all equipped with the latest technology.

For Stuart and the members of his team, an average day ranges from replacing tap washers and flick mixers, to unblocking drains and inspecting drains with CCTV equipment. They also replace hot water services, carry out sewer and stormwater pipe renewals, spouting and roof restoration, rainwater tank installations, fix burst pipes and roof leaks, and perform general maintenance.

Stuart’s company is based in the Darebin Enterprise Centre. This is a general business incubator, providing office and warehouse space to over forty businesses. Stuart moved into the incubator about 8 years ago, needing to get out of his home office due to a growing family.

For 28 years, Stuart has been servicing the northern suburbs of Melbourne. Born and bred in Fairfield and still living in the area, Stuart is a local man through and through, who will provide you with personable customer service and the experience of a life-long plumbing career.
