Is a dam liner right for me?

Dam liners are ideal for:

• preventing ground leakage
• reducing soil particles entering the water—meaning clearer water
• reducing bank erosion
• creating streams and waterfalls
• producing a controlled wetland (i.e. easier to control invasive plants)

Which dam liners are best?

We recommend EDPM liners. We stock two brands: Firestone and Aqua Tough.

EPDM stands for Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer, a type of fish-friendly plastic. The material is ultra-long life—resistant to UV rays and extreme temperatures—and can be easily manipulated into nearly any size and shape. 

The material is also very easy to work with when joining pieces and positioning around turns and rocks. And, while it’s just an opinion, we think they look great in the wild too—with a natural-ish look.
