Otter Fencing – Est. 1959

The Otter Fencing name has been built on a great tradition of vision, hard work and true entrepreneurial spirit.

It all began in the early 1950’s when John Otter – Jack as he was known – was employed as a Fencing sub-contractor on Housing Commission estates in Melbourne and Regional Victoria. Hammering away each day, Jack dreamt of expanding and developing his own manufacturing business, supplying fencing materials and gates to the broader industry. Jack began investigating opportunities for manufacturing and in 1959 he formally incorporated Otter Fencing. Soon after Jack purchased his first chain-link fabric machine to manufacture rolls of chain-Link fabric along with various other fabrication equipment to create a fully equipped workshop, which laid the foundations for Otter Fencing to become the successful business that exists today.

60 years of experience

We’ve been manufacturing, supplying and installing fencing and gates for more than 60 years and in that time Otter Fencing has built its reputation on quality, combined with unsurpassed reliability. Otter Fencing are well respected within the industry, specialising in; Chain-Link Fabric, Tubular Panel & Welded Mesh fencing, gates and associated fencing materials; supply only or supplied and installed, to comply with all relevant Australian Standards.

We have the latest automated machinery to manufacture Chain-Link Fabric for the industry in a wide range of heights, diamond sizes and wire coatings, which can be used for various versatile applications such as; Security Fencing, Storage Cages, Tennis Courts, Sporting Grounds, etc..

Otter Fencing’s Chain-Link Fabric is manufactured from Australian made Onesteel® Wire and Bekaert Wire for guaranteed quality, with a choice of Standard Galvanized (W02Z), Heavy Galvanized (W10Z), P.V.C. coated wire in Black & Dark Green and Black Fusion Bonded wire for applications that require a higher durability.

Otter Fencing also provides a wide range of Tubular Panel fencing and gates, from the domestic loop top pool fence panel through to the industrial steel spear top panel for high security fencing and gate applications.

In addition, with years of practical installation experience, we are able to package up a complete list of supply only fencing materials into a specific job lot, to suit your requirements.
